I had a great weekend visiting Mike Ganus at his open house loft tour and auction. I got to work a little on the next episode of Pigeon Beat, handle some world-class pigeons and meet some new and old friends. Mike had an impressive, world-class collection of breeders on display at his loft and 60 children off of them that sold at his auction. The high sellers were two children of Mix, the 2018 1st place winner of the South Africa Million Dollar Pigeon Race. They sold to Tim Lucas for $21,000 and $27,000. Enjoy the photos below of the auction, including photos of Jim Ward, Tim Lucas, Frank McLaughlin, Mike Ganus, Andy Skwiat, Nikolaas Gyselbrecht, Big Andy Larentzakis, Lou Colletta...
Last week we picked up our boxes of 2019 calendars and they are now in our store ready for purchase. This year's calendar includes another great set of our studio photos along with some beautiful photos of racing pigeons doing what they do best: Enjoying the freedom of the beautiful blue skies! I am proud that this is our 5th calendar and that it has been enjoyed by hundreds of fanciers around the world every year. Don't forget, we sell out every year, so order yours early and often! :)
In this episode of Pigeon Beat we take an insiders look at three of the smallest and largest races in America. We meet their owners and learn more about the highlights and struggles from their lofts. Join us as we travel to Tim Kirschner’s Breeders Fall Classic in North Carolina, Stephen Michael’s new Mid-America Challenge in Iowa, and Jim Ward’s Hoosier Classic, the first million-dollar purse in pigeon racing in America.
Check out the trailer for the upcoming release of the first episode of Pigeon Beat. I'm very excited to announce the creation of this show dedicated to the stories of pigeons.
